“Sometimes I wish I was someone other than me
Fighting to make the mirror happy
Trying to find whatever is missing
Won’t you help me back to glory

You make me beautiful
You make me stand in awe
You step inside my heart, and I am amazed
I love to hear You say
Who I am is quite enough
You make me worthy of love and beautiful

"I’m writing a song on it right now. It’s specified for a friend in particular but it’s for everyone. I look at some of these girls posting stuff about how they don’t think anyone could love them for who they are and they can’t imagine a boy spending time or effort on them, and I can’t believe it, because the girls posting it are some of the most beautiful, wonderful, most loving, caring people that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. so ladies, let’s stand up and realize we don’t need to lower standards and feel alone and unwanted. These guys are not worth it. We need to know that we’re daughters of the Most High King, and He finds us beautiful. and that’s all that matters."

thepurposedrivenlife:

I made this video spur of the moment although it has been on my heart for awhile. I know there are other girls out there who struggle with low self esteem. I’ve come to the conclusion that most of my friends believe that I am very confident person. The truth is that I wore make up and took a lot of pictures to post on Facebook and Tumblr, to help myself realize that I am beautiful…even if I had to fake it. Well I’m done faking it. I’m done feeling like I have to live up to even my own standard of beauty. No, I’m not pointing the finger at the media. It’s all an internal struggle that I’m asking God to help me with. And no, I’m not calling myself ugly. Even I know that would be a lie coming from the devil. It’s all about acceptance, and I’m finally being able to accept me for who I really am and what I really look like. And if you know me in real life, you know that taking my glasses off is a big deal!

All beautiful you are, my darling; there is no flaw in you.” -Song of Solomon 4:7

beautyiswhoyouareHer vulnerability is courageous, I love it. She gets it. Beauty is loving what makes you different than everyone else, not loving what makes you the same. She’s right, she is flawless and made in the perfect image of God. Ladies makeup, jewelry, and clothes don’t make someone beautiful, but rather beauty is how you live and love. It’s not what you look like, it’s who you are….

"Beautiful people are those who live selflessly and love unconditionally. They give generously and accept others fully. They forgive quickly and breathe slowly. They live not by their strength but by God’s. They are people who shine, because they have a joy and peace about them that radiates, it’s completely contagious. They know who they are and they are confident in who God says they are. These people don’t let others determine their sense of self-worth nor do they let them define who they are. The best example I can think of when it comes to true, eternal, radiant beauty is Jesus; he did all these things and much more. Jesus is beautiful in every meaning of the word, people were and are drawn to him, Not because of what he looked like but because of who he was and is."

This is a beauty blog and I’m excited to write all about real, genuine, breathtaking, glorious, powerful, never-changing, and radiant beauty :)
In this blog all of our differences as unique individuals will be celebrated, they will not be used to make anyone feel less than or not good enough. In this blog, I’m saying the media/people are wrong and God is right.
However, in order to caution any followers, don’t be surprised when you don’t see any blogs about fashion, makeup, products, celebrity trends, dieting, plastic surgery, etc. Although these are commonly associated with the term beauty, I’d argue these things or topics have nothing to do with beauty and everything to do with becoming someone other than who you are. With that said, I won’t waste my time thinking or writing about any of those things. If you’re purely concerned with physical appearance, instead of reading my blog you might want pick up a magazine, watch a movie, go to the mall and see 27382 advertisements on “how to look and feel more beautiful,” watch tv, etc. They all emphasize that beauty is not something your born with but instead something you can purchase or put on, it’s a trap good luck. In this blog, I’ll argue the exact opposite.
Why am I writing this blog?
This blog might rub some people the wrong way, and it will definitely go against the grain of mainstream opinions on beauty. But, thats okay because quite frankly I’m tired of men and women struggling to become other people in hopes of being perceived as “beautiful.” I’m tired of our media and people brainwashing everyone else into believing they’re ugly if they don’t look like ken or barbie. I feel like this happens because people are told and convinced into believing a false definition of beauty. Firstly, lets start thinking for ourselves and stop chasing imitation, we don’t look that way for a reason, we Need to embrace who YOU and I are. Can you imagine if we all looked the same? annd how incredibly boring that would be…Yet that’s what we’re trying to create when we aspire to look and be like other people.
The result will be: We’ll always compare ourselves to others, which will leave us Never satisfied and Always feeling worse than before. In this case, everyone loses.

Imitation is boring and we all look differently for a reason, but awareness is power. When we realize that our physical looks are so temporary and always varying, we can then start focusing on things that matter, like our identity, which is who we really are.
For clarity sake:

False: Beauty is not about what you look like, it’s not about what you wear, nor is it about what people think or say about you. The truth is physical appearance and popularity do not make someone beautiful.
Truth: Beauty is actually referring to who someone is, it is part of their identity. When someone is beautiful, it’s who they are. Looking and feeling beautiful are simply bonuses to being a beautiful person.

Your differences are what make you beautiful, not your similarities.
Can you imagine if we all embraced our differences and realized that we’re beautiful exactly how God made us?! We’d have a lot less depression, a lot less cutting, a lot less people with eating disorders, and a lot less suicides.
This is huge, don’t underestimate our need to not feel but to actually be beautiful.
Also Never try to force or prove your beauty, if it’s who you are it will come naturally.
